¿El Alcohol es más peligroso que el Éxtasis?

Un estudio publicado en marzo de 2007 en la revista médica The Lancet abrió el debate en el Reino Unido para establecer una nueva clasificación penal de las drogas. En el estudio se trató de clasificar las drogas dependiendo de lo dañinas o perjudiciales que eran teniendo en cuenta 3 factores:

-         El daño físico en la persona.

-         El potencial de la droga para crear abuso o dependencia.

-         El daño que presenta la droga en la sociedad.

Dos grupos aislados de expertos compuestos por médicos, forenses, psiquiatras y científicos fueron los encargados de realizar este estudio, obteniendo ambos grupos resultados muy similares.

Por otra parte el sistema de clasificación penal británico está compuesto por tres letras (A B C). Las drogas de clase A son las más dañinas, como por ejemplo la heroína, y las de clase C las menos dañinas, como por ejemplo la mariguana.

Esta es la tabla de los resultados que se obtuvieron donde se establece una comparación entre el daño real de las drogas según el estudio y el daño según el sistema penal británico. Desde la más dañina a la menos dañina.
